General Information:
This menu selector allows us to custom plan a menu that best suits your likes and dislikes. Don't worry about the quantity, as we'll pack lots of food. We know the kind of appetite one can build canoeing in the fresh air of Algonquin. Don't worry about the exact number of meals, as we'll plan that all out for you. We just want to know what you like and what you dislike. Feel free to use the comments section at the end to express any concerns or preferences you want to make sure we understand.

As much as possible, we pack fresh food for the first 1 to 3 days. We freeze some items (meat) and give them to you frozen. We keep fresh food in our cooler until just before you're ready to leave. By packing them properly together in your food pack and exercising a little care (keep them out of the sun!), fresh items will last 1 to 3 days. Your packer will go over this with you when he / she reviews your menu with you.

Breakfast and Dinners are bigger meals and generally require a fire or a stove. For lunches, we find that meals that don't require a fire or stove are preferable for most days. They're quicker to prepare and can be enjoyed throughout the day, as your appetite decides. Those lunches requiring cooking are indicated. They're great for rainy or cool days (actually it never rains in Algonquin Park) but they do take more time.

For longer trips, we get into non-perishable items. Cans and bottles are not allowed, and we repack these items where appropriate. We use Harvest Foodworks for the packages meals. Their meals are high quality, easy to prepare and they taste great! These items are identified by HFW.
